Joanne M. Todd, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at UMSMC at Easton with her loving family by her side. She was born in Onancock, VA on February 4, 1935 and was a daughter of the late Merritt and Margaret Paul Marsh.
Mrs. Todd attended schools in Cambridge. On February 24, 1951, she married Ralph Glenwood Todd, Sr. who passed away on March 8, 1996. In her earlier years, she was a homemaker and worked as a crab picker. Later, Mrs. Todd worked in the bakery at Acme. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and enjoyed her grandchildren. Mrs. Todd was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God.
She is survived by two daughters Glenda McCarter and husband Tim of Cambridge and Amy Bennett and husband Jackie of East New Market, a daughter in law Sharon Todd of East New Market, six grandchildren Justin Todd of East New Market, Ben McCarter and wife Meghan of East New Market, Andrew McCarter and wife Celsea of Cambridge, Ryan McCarter and fiancée Chelsea of Baltimore, Connor and Hallie Bennett both of East New Market, four great grandchildren Kailie and Aubrie Todd and Blake McCarter and Liam McCarter, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Todd is preceded in death by a daughter Deborah Todd, a son Ralph Glenwood “Glen” Todd, Jr., two brothers Paul Marsh and James Marsh, and two sisters Dorothy Riley and Ruth Wright.
Pallbearers will be Tim McCarter, Jackie Bennett, Ben McCarter, Andrew McCarter, Ryan McCarter, Justin Todd and Connor Bennett.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 1 pm at Souls Harbor Church of God with Rev. Roy Collins and Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 11 to 1 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Souls Harbor Church of God, 718 Peachblossom Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
