Edwin “Eddie” Lee Dayton, Jr., 63, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on May 15, 1954 and was a son of the late Edwin Lee Dayton, Sr. and Henrietta Fox Dayton.
Eddie was a lifelong resident of Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School Class of 1972. He was most notable as owner of Dayton’s Restaurant, when he took it over from his mother in 1990. Eddie also worked on the water, in construction and in the real estate field.
He is survived by a son Edwin “Eddie” Lee Dayton III and wife Andrea of Hudson, two daughters Mary Dayton Sears and companion Michael Lagana of Wingate and Frances Lee Dayton and companion Daniel Smack of Willards, grandchildren Jacob Dayton, Amber Dayton, Jonathan Kelly, Abigail Kelly, Tyler Sears, Kyra Sears, Ryder Sears and Skylar Smack, his wife Lillian Lee Dayton, his loving sister Phyllis Creighton and husband Ted of Cambridge and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Paul Dorman officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
