Franklin T. Bradford, 82, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Crapo on October 1, 1935 and was a son of the late William Henry Bradford and Grace Wingate Bradford.
Mr. Bradford attended schools in South Dorchester. He served six years in the U.S. Army Reserves with the 79th Infantry Division, where he held the rank of Sergeant. On June 15, 1957, he married the former Carolyn Hurley. Frank worked as an electronic tech at Airpax and later at Westinghouse Electric Center in Baltimore. For the next 24 years, Frank was a store manager for Montgomery Ward and Company with four years traveling as the Baltimore Area Store Manager Training Director after Wards closed in 1986. He also worked at Phillips Packing Company as a warehouse manager. Later Frank was a sales executive with WAAI, WCEM, and WTDK Radio Stations.
Frank enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and tinkering with electronics. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 55 years, the American Legion Post 91, and a past member of the Cambridge Elks.
He is survived by his wife R. Carolyn Bradford of Cambridge, two daughters Tammy Hickman and husband Gary of Cambridge and Debbie Kinnamon and husband Don of Cambridge, two grandchildren Christa Peek and husband Trae and Clint Kinnamon, three great grandchildren Raine, Hunter and Miranda, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by a brother Brady Bradford, four sisters Lucille Burton, Virginia Wheatley, Frances Adams and Grace Lee Hall.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Adams, Clint Kinnamon, Eddie Bradford, Brady Bradford, Jr., Willie Bradford and Elmo Peek. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Kinnamon, Troy Hill, John Harris, Charles Price, James Hurley and Harry Hurley.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 12 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Gary Hickman and Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
