Alice "Darlene" Burton

Alice “Darlene” Burton, 89, of Cambridge went home with The Lord on April 23, 2025.

Darlene was born December 8, 1935 to Ansel D. and Catherine E. Abbott. On June 9, 1957 she married Donald L. Burton, Sr. Darlene at one time was a member of First Baptist Church of Cambridge. She also worked at The Daily Banner, Montgomery Ward, and Mallard Bay.

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings. She is survived by her son Donald L. Burton, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Darlene’s caregiver Christina Ehrlich and Coastal Hospice.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at East New Market Cemetery at 11 AM with Rev. Dudley Parr officiating.
