Alma J. Davis

Alma J. Davis, 78 of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital. She was born in Midland, MD on December 17, 1929 and was a daughter of the late Robert and Cecil Shepherd Miller.

Mrs. Davis graduated from Beall High School in Frostburg, MD. On February 13, 1951 she married William E. Davis. He passed away on March 4, 1996. She had worked for several insurance companies. She was a avid reader and loved to paint.

She is survived by a son William E. Davis, Jr. and his wife Ellen of College Park, two grandsons Christopher D. Davis and Kevin B. Davis both of College Park, two brothers Robert Miller of Pennsylvania and Thomas Miller of Georgia and a sister Betty Mallow of Cumberland and two nephews and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD 21502. Interment will be private. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 114 Baptist Street, Salisbury, MD 21801 or to the Heart Fund, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Local arrangement are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
