Barbara M. Edgar

Barbara M. Edgar, 87, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at UMSMC at Easton. She was born in Cambridge on June 4, 1938 and was a daughter of the late William Lake Mills and Thelma Cordrey Mills.

Mrs. Edgar graduated from Cambridge High School Class of 1956. On December 18, 1960, she married Ronald Cooper Edgar who passed away on October 5, 2011. Mrs. Edgar started working as a bookkeeper for Valliant Fertilizer Company, Dr. Burdette office, Dorchester County Farm Bureau, but her main responsibility was working with her husband on the farm. She also drove a school bus for several bus contractors. Mrs. Edgar was a member of Grace Methodist Church, lifetime member of the Dorchester Farm Bureau and a Maryland 4-H All Star.

She is survived by two sons Jeff Edgar of Cambridge and Steve Edgar and wife Dawn of Cambridge, a grandson Tyler Edgar of Cambridge, a special niece Rhonda Doyle and husband Pat and their family. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Edgar is preceded in death by a son Ronald Mark Edgar, a brother Donald “Skip” Mills and a special sister in law Jean Newcomb and a brother in law Leroy B. Edgar, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Edgar, Steve Edgar, Tyler Edgar, Martin Pepper, Max Schnoor, Wade Dawson, Freddie Lewis and Brian Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Doyle, Pat Doyle, and Sonny Jackson.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 1pm at Grace Methodist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Chris Pettit officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flower, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Methodist Church, P.O. Box 815, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
