Beatrice A. Dryden

Beatrice A. Dryden of the Neck District passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in East Brady, PA and was a daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine Thomasello Messina.

 

Mrs. Dryden grew up in Petrolia, PA and Bulter, PA and graduated from Karns City High School. She moved to the Washington, DC area where she took a job in Washington at a Savings and Loan Bank and she soon met a young policeman who locked her up for the next 56 years. She enjoyed working at Dorchester Center for the Arts. Mrs. Dryden was an avid reader and enjoyed lighthouses. She was a member of Neck District Fire Company where she had served as secretary, Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and Spedden United Methodist Church where she sung in the choir.

 

She is survived by her husband Bernie Dryden and a son Michael Dryden both of the Neck District, three grandchildren Anthony Dryden, Adrianna Dryden, and Nicolas Dryden and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Dryden is preceded in death by two brothers.  

 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11am at Spedden United Methodist Church with Pastor Nan Duerling officiating. Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
