Bonnie B. Simmons

Bonnie B. Simmons, 80, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Autumn Lake at Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge. She was born on June 15, 1943 in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Olin D. and Geneva Parks Burton.

Mrs. Simmons graduated from Cambridge High School Class of 1961. On December 12, 1964 she married Marvin J. “Buddy” Simmons, Jr. who passed away on July 30, 2018. She worked at Rob Roy and later at Todd's Insurance Company. Mrs. Simmons enjoyed drawing, writing music, singing in church and playing the organ. She was a member of Soul's Harbor Church of God. 

She is survived by two sons David Simmons (Beverly) and Drew Simmons (Lynn) both of Cambridge, a granddaughter Olivia (Cole) Simmons (Gabe), step grandchildren Meghan McCarter (Ben), Logan Rippons (Kilani), Caleb Scott, Sierra Tippett, and Austin Robinson, great grandchildren Ellie, Blake, Luke, and Brycen, a sister in law Shirley Adkins and husband Sam of Church Creek and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11am at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. David Wooten, Jr. officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
