Carolyn T. Parks, 93, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at her home. She was born on November 18, 1932 in Cambridge to the late Carlton Hopkins Thomas and Laura Wilson Thomas.
Mrs. Parks graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1949. On December 21, 1951, she married Irving "Buss" M. Parks, Jr., who passed away on June 16, 1996. Mrs. Parks went to the Eastern Shore Hospital Center School of Nursing and received the Dr. Award for Best All- around Nurse and Clinical Achievement Award. She worked for Drs. Lawrence and Alfred Maryanov, plant nurse at Coastal Foods, Eastern Shore Hospital Center and Farmers and Merchants National Bank. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she served on many committees. Mrs. Parks volunteered on the Epilepsy Board of the Eastern Shore, Dorchester General Hospital and was treasurer of the American Cancer Society. She enjoyed reading, needle crafts, bowling, and shopping.
Mrs. Parks is survived by two daughters Betsy Parks and Carol Ann Parks both of Cambridge, two sisters Patricia Fortson of Florida and Gretchen Seymour of Trappe, a brother Richard Thomas of Baltimore, several nieces and nephews and a grand-dog Joey. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Parks is preceded in death by two brothers Carlton Thomas and George Thomas, a sister in law Frances Parks Brooks and her father and mother in law Irving Parks, Sr. and Elizabeth Parks.
The family would like to thank their special angels Tammy, JoEllen, and Monica Cephas for helping out Mrs. Parks and their families.
A private service will be held for family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
