Charlotte M. Booze

Charlotte Mitchell Booze, 93, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Bel Air, MD on May 2,1931 and was the daughter of the late George Mitchell and Myrtle Steptoe Mitchell.

Mrs. Booze graduated from Bel Air HS in the class of 1948. She then attended the University of MD in College Park and graduated in 1952 with a BS in Home Economics. She was assigned to Cambridge through the MD State Extension service. She married C. Leslie Booze and began a family. She returned to work in 1965, after completing a 2nd BS in Dietetics and becoming a Registered Dietitian. She then worked for the State of MD at the Eastern Shore Hospital Center until her retirement 30 years later. She enjoyed traveling and cruises and working in her flower gardens.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Judith Booze Kahn of Burtonsville, MD and Cynthia Booze Richardson of Tarpon Springs, FL, a son, Claude "Chuck" Booze Jr of Cambridge along with 8 grandchildren, Lisa Kahn Hall, Phillip Kahn, Blair Richardson, Jessica Booze Daubert, Evan Richardson, Jamie Booze Shuler, Abby Richardson, and Jacob Booze. In addition, there are 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, a brother and sister-in-law James and Mary Jane Mitchell of Chestertown, MD. Ms. Booze is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Booze, a daughter Virginia Booze and a sister, Eleanor Hoelzer.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

A service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Thomas Funeral Home, 700 Locust St. Cambridge MD at 1 PM with Rev. Tonya McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Old Trinity Churchyard. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Zion Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
