Charlotte C. (Willey) Pritchett

Charlotte Cecilia Pritchett, 86, of Cambridge passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD. Charlotte was born on May 21, 1936 in Baltimore, MD and later, as a child, moved with her parents to Cambridge, MD where she spent the remainder of her life. She was the daughter of the late Gordon and Bernadette Bakuis Willey.

Charlotte was always a dedicated worker and worked over 50 years at a series of local businesses until her retirement in 2005 at the age of 70. On August 15, 1980, she married Rufus W. Pritchett who passed away on February 6, 2019. Charlotte loved country music and dancing, boating, fishing, and romance novels.  She had a love for animals, especially her cats.

She leaves behind her children, Betty Papson, Stephen Bankard, Deborah Bankard, and Richard Bankard, as well as 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.  Also surviving her are her sisters, Barbara Swann and Emily Elliott and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Pritchett is preceded in death by a sister Joan Parker.

A funeral service will be private on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Joel Beiler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A.
