Deanna L. Mills, 74, of Linkwood passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at UMSMC at Easton. She was born in Cambridge on February 16, 1952 and was a daughter of the late Jones V. and Margaret Morris Mills.
Ms. Mills graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1970. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Glasgow Elementary School from 1970 to 1973. In 1973, she started working full time at Airpax, Plant 1 and 2 in Purchasing, until 2008. Deanna was a Property Manager for Glen Burn and Shiloh House, began private caregiving and also worked with Dorchester County Public Schools, as a substitute Teacher until her health started declining.
Deanna was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, gardening, pool days in the summer and was a collector of many things. She was also an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, especially Jim Palmer.Her favorite TV shows were NCIS and Law & Order. She was a past member of the South Dorchester Jaycees. Deanna had a spicy sense of humor and a deep relationship with her family,friends and God. She attended Open Bible Church.
She is survived by two brothers Daniel “Danny” Mills and wife Wanda of Cambridge, Jay Mills and wife Debbie of East New Market, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Besides her parents, Ms. Mills is preceded in death by a sister Joan Wheatley and a niece Rhonda Cordrey.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1pm at Open Bible Church with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Open Bible Church, 1619Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Lakes-Straits Fire Company, 2103 Farm Creek Road,Wingate, MD 21675. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
