Denver Courtney Spear, 89, of Hurlock, MD passed away on September 19, 2019 at his home. He was born on April 13, 1930 in Kentucky to the late Eddie Spear and Lola Rogers Spear.
Denver served in the United States Navy for 30 years. In 1948, he married the former Marjorie Ruth Savage who passed away on December 25, 2005. Denver enjoyed being outside, especially in the mountains, which earned him the nickname “Mountain Man” from his wife. He especially loved the forest and his Sunday drives to the mountains with his family.
Denver is survived by his children Ruth Ann Seligson, Linda Clark (Dan), Patrick Spear (Kimberly), Ronald Spear (Pamela), David Spear (Jackie), and Michele Davis (Mark), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, his brother Dallas Spear, and several cousins. Besides his parents and his wife, Denver is preceded in death by a son Eddie Spear, a daughter Nancy Spear, two brothers Adrian and Frederick Spear, and a son in law Myo Bathaung.
At Denver’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, MD.
