Donald "Pop-Pop" D. Cantler

Donald David “Pop-Pop” Cantler, 89, of Church Creek passed away on June 9, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born in Annapolis on September 3, 1928 to the late Lewis Cantler and Elizabeth Ritchie Cantler.

Pop-Pop was a hardworking man who loved being on the water.  He loved his family more than anything.  On June 6, 1950, Pop-Pop married the former Mildred Jane Alton, with whom he just celebrated 68 loving years of marriage.  He was always someone who could be counted on to help.  He was a very generous man, and every year when his asparagus was raised, he would share his crop with all of his neighbors.  Pop-Pop loved being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He also loved standing under the two maple trees in his back yard and waving to everyone who would come by.

Pop-pop is survived by his wife Mildred Cantler, their daughter Darcel Kinsey and her husband Walt, grandchildren Donald Loveless and wife Jennifer, Elizabeth Stuart and husband Boyd, and great-grandchildren Gordon Loveless, Aubrey Stuart, and Annabelle Stuart.

The family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge on Wednesday June 13, 2018 from 6-8 PM.
