Frances Rue

Frances A. Rue, 83, of Cambridge passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Autumn Lake at Chesapeake Woods in Cambridge. She was born in Cambridge on December 23, 1942, and was a daughter of the late Thomas H. Mills, Sr. and Marian Brohawn Mills.

Mrs. Rue graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1960. On July 22, 1961, she married John R. Rue, Sr. who passed away on April 26, 2025. She worked at Western Publishing for 30 plus years. Mrs. Rue enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Cambridge Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by two children John Rue, Jr. and wife Brenda of Church Creek, Michele Hurley and husband Rob of Cambridge, four grandchildren Megan Rue (William Kaplan), Josh Hurley, Jake Hurley and Justin Hurley, a great grandson Kolton Kaplan, a great granddaughter Sadie Mae Kaplan, a brother Thomas Mills, Jr. and wife Brenda of Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Rue is preceded in death by two brothers Vernon Mills, Sr. and Norman P. Mills and a sister Cleona M.Tennant. 

Pallbearers will be Josh Hurley, Jake Hurley, Justin Hurley, Megan Rue, Jimmy Tennant and Dennis Grafton. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2025 at 1pm at Cambridge Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jack Diehl officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.
