Francesca P. Malley

Francesca Sanburn Phillips Love Malley passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Cambridge, MD, at the age of 92. Born on July 26, 1933 in Brooklyn NY, Francesca was a beacon of knowledge and wisdom, known for her fearless spirit, engaging personality and one-of-a-kind soul.

Francesca graduated from Goshen Central High School in New York and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Delaware, where she majored in English. She dedicated her career to enlightening others, working passionately as a teacher, social worker, and volunteer. She was a member of many book clubs over the years; her love for reading and discussing philosophy was only matched by her commitment to her family and the community. She had much enthusiasm when it came to watching and playing sports; having won multiple tennis championships in Bowie, MD

A devoted matriarch, Francesca is survived by her sister Deborah Haviland, children George Malley Jr., Melita Love, Cynthia Bowie, R. Brooks Love III, Curtiss Love, Terry Malley, Heather Love-Barbour, Donald Malley, and Spencer Love. She was a cherished grandmother to Kirk Sweeney, Chrystie Bowie, Jenny Bowie, Cameron Rogers, Flannery Ceriale, Robert Love, Alyssa Love, Nicholas Love, Madison Love-Barbour, and 11 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Francesca was preceded in death by her parents, John and Melita Phillips; sisters, Jane Bay and Elizabeth Brisson; her first husband, Richard Love Jr.; second husband, George Malley Sr.; daughter, Allegra Love; grandson, Clinton Love; granddaughter, Crystal Love and nephew, Daniel Brisson.

Francesca's life will be celebrated on March 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Antioch Methodist Church, located at 1742 Town Point Rd, Cambridge, MD 21613. Her legacy of wisdom and love for knowledge will continue to inspire those who knew her.
