Frederick W. Spedden, Jr.

Frederick W. Spedden, Jr., 96, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on November 19, 1929 and was a son of the late Frederick W. Spedden, Sr. and Gertie Marshall Spedden.

Mr. Spedden graduated from Cambridge High School. He served in the Army National Guard. On November 8, 1953 he married the former Peggy Mears who passed away on April 1, 2020. He worked with his father at Cambridge Automotive and later at NAPA Auto Parts until he was 88 years old. Mr. Spedden enjoyed going to Chincoteague, fishing, crabbing and traveling. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church.

He is survived by grandson Allen “Tater” W. Dietrich, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 11am at Spedden Seward Cemetery with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
