Gary L. White, 85, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Encompass Health in Salisbury. He was born in Hannibal, Missouri on December 16, 1936 and was a son of the late George and Christine Ragar White.

He served in the U.S. Army. In 1965, he moved to Cambridge and worked at Western Publishing for over thirty years. Mr. White also worked on the water, Blackwater Sportsman Club and was owner/operator of Cambridge Gun Repair for over 40 years. On February 15, 1975, he married the former Linda Herd. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, trapping and sports. Mr. White was a past member of the NRA, Grand National Waterfowl, Safari Club, American Legion Post #91, Cambridge Elks, and National Wild Turkey Federation.

He is survived by his wife Linda White of Cambridge, two sons Randall White, Sr. of Cambridge, and Steve Mills and wife Dee of Woolford, four grandchildren Randall White, Jr., Sarah White, Steve Mills, Jr. and wife Lauren, and David Cole Mills, four brothers and a sister and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a good friend and neighbor Wayne Brown. Besides his parents, Mr. White is preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Randall White, Sr., Steve Mills, Sr., Randall White, Jr., Steve Mills, Jr., Cole Mills and Martin Sharp. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Burton, Mike Bradley, Wayne Brown, Bob Kirwan, Bobby Wheatley and Harold Phillips.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2 pm at East New Market Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
