George D. Bowers, 63, of Federalsburg passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. He was born in Dundalk on October 9, 1946 and was a son of the late Samuel O. and Georgia Conrad Bowers.
Mr. Bowers attended school in Crapo. He was a waterman. He enjoyed the wild life, animals, crabbing and fishing.
He is survived by three brothers James O. Bowers of New York, Samuel T. Bowers of Pasadena and William David Bowers of Salisbury, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Mr. Bowers is preceded in death by six sisters Doris May Ziggler, Kathleen Rauf, Evelyn Cramer, Myrtle Riggins, Ruth Willey and Ella Draper, two brothers Richard Bowers and John Bowers.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A in Cambridge with Rev. David J. Wooten, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m.
