Gladys T. Woolford

May 15, 1917 — November 11, 2012

Gladys T. Woolford, 95, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Chesapeake Woods Center. She was born in Federalsburg on May 15, 1917 and was a daughter of the late Eugene C. and Lula Bradley Trice. Mrs. Woolford was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Woolford on January 23, 2000.

Before my mother became a resident at Chesapeake Woods, she spent a year living with us, and she was a joy. All who knew her also loved her. Her spirit was sweet and her heart was giving. As she took her daily walk about the house for exercise, I would hear her say the following from an old 1920's song. All around the water tank, Waiting for the train, A million miles away from home, Waiting in the rain. We now have God's peace in knowing that her final journey is to be with Him.

She is survived by a daughter Diane Wise and husband Bill of Cambridge, a grandson Mark Wise and wife Sheryl of Columbus, GA, two great grandchildren Hamilton and Emmie Ruth Wise, a niece Bonnie Griffith and husband Ed of Cambridge. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Woolford is preceded in death by a grandson Jason Wise, two sisters Alice Trice and Betty Hogeboom and four brothers, Kelso Trice, Eugene Trice, Herbert Trice and William Trice.

All services were private. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
