Glenn A. Watkins Sr. (May 25, 1953 – May 8, 2025)
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Glenn Watkins Sr, aged 71, who left us on May 8, 2025. Born May 25, 1953, in Pottstown, PA, Glenn was a beloved husband to Janis Dehorty Watkins for 25 happy years.
Glenn A. Watkins Sr. was the son of the late Donald P. Watkins Sr. and Emily (Raber) Watkins of Millsboro, DE. Glenn is survived by his son, Glenn Watkins Jr.; his friend and ex-wife, Sandra Breidegam; his grandson, Kyle Watkins of Royersford, PA; and he is preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Watkins. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter Lily F. Watkins (daughter of Robert Watkins), his stepdaughter, Marci Oberst, her husband, Ted Oberst of Olney, MD, and their two daughters, Peyton and Rylee. Glenn’s sister, Debra Becker (d Phillip Becker) of Millsboro, DE; Donald P. Watkins Jr., and wife, Sandra, of North Port FL; Jack M., and wife, Anita Watkins, Gilbertsville, PA; along with many nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Glenn’s passion, other than his wife, was for boating and crabbing on the Indian River Inlet in DE. Glenn was known for his sense of humor always able to bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Whether it was through his witty remarks, a funny dance, or flirtatious joke, Glenn had a unique ability to lighten the mood and make everyone laugh. To be a neighbor of Glenn, you were a lifetime friend. Glenn always loved to mingle through the neighborhood walking his dogs, or golf cart around to join neighbors in any gathering they were having. Throughout his life, Glenn A Watkins Sr. touched the lives of many and left a lasting impact on his community and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local SPCA.
