Gregory L. Lutz, Sr., 59, of East New Market passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at UMSMC at Easton with his wife, son and sister by his side. He was born in Cambridge on July 25, 1965 and was the son of the late Ellsworth Willard Lutz and Lottie Belle Brannock Lutz.
On August 18, 1990, he married the former Michelle Jarrett. He was a skilled carpenter working at Charles E. Brohawn and Willow Construction before starting his own business, Greg’s Home Improvements. He is best remembered by his acts of kindness to others including the little critters. All that really knew him understood he would excel at any job he tackled whether that be cooking, woodworking or gardening. He was the man behind the scenes for his loved one’s endeavors. He led with his heart his entire life.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Lutz of East New Market, a son Gregory “Lindy” Lutz, Jr. of East New Market, a sister Virginia Spellman and husband Steve of East New Market, a niece Jessica Martin and husband Billy and a nephew Bryan Spellman and wife Rachel and five great nephews.
Pallbearers will be his son, Greg Lutz Jr., Bryan Spellman, Buddy Thomas, Eddie Phillips, Cole Varner and Paul Varner.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11am at Old Trinity Churchyard in Woolford with Rev.’s Betsy Blake Jones and Howard Hoffman officiating. In honor of Greg’s life well-lived, lead with your heart and consider a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
