Harold Mark Wanex

Harold Mark Wanex, 68, of Hurlock passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on February 16, 1957 and was a son of Patricia LeCompte Cash and the late Harold G. Wanex.

Mark graduated from North Dorchester High School. On April 1, 1977 he married the former Cheryl Knode. Mark worked on the water and also with Tri-Gas & Oil. He enjoyed gardening, building boats and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Wanex of Hurlock, a son Jason Wanex and wife Theresa of Hurlock, a daughter Katie Wanex, five grandchildren Kenny B. Abbott, Lizzie Davenport, Ciera Brannock, Nate Brannock and Aubrie Wanex and a great grandson Braxton Abbott, two sister’s Joann Lynch and Karen Liske and several nephews.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 5pm to 6pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613 or to a charity of choice.
