Harvey W. "Beaver" Abbott, Sr.

Harvey Wayne “Beaver” Abbott Sr. passed away on April 26, 2026, following a prolonged decline in health.

After growing up in Toddville, Maryland, Beaver later made his home in Cambridge, where he started a family and spent much of his life working on the water as well as in auto body and repair. A true jack of all trades, he had a lifelong passion for boats, cars, and motorcycles, and found his greatest peace and happiness either on the open road or out on the water. Known for his quick wit and easygoing nature, Beaver loved a good joke and had a special way of making people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Parks and Monnie Abbott, and his sisters, Darlene and Shirley, as well as several brothers-in-law.

He is survived by brothers; Wylie Abbott, James “Fuzzy” Abbott, Parks “Junior” Abbott, sisters Diane Jones, Marie Dryden, Barbara Jean Willey, and Carolyn Simmons, as well as many nieces and nephews; his former wife, Gail Abbott; their daughter, Stephanie (Neil); their sons, Harvey Abbott Jr. (Angela) and Shannon Abbott (fiancé Genia Davis); and his youngest daughter, Cheyenne Abbott. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Devin Prue, Harrison Prue, Haily Prue, Morgan Abbott, Nathan Abbott, and Nicholas Abbott.
