James Urbanczyk, 78, of Cambridge, MD, passed away on November 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and unwavering loyalty to his family, friends, and his country.
For 50 years, James shared an extraordinary marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy (Steimer). Together, they created a home filled with warmth and laughter, raising their son, Mark. James cherished his time with his daughter-in-love, Nicole, and delighting in his role as grandfather to Chase and Jack.
Born April 1, 1947, in Lackawanna, NY, to Stephen and Julia Urbanczyk, James was a devoted brother to Mary Ann Pulinski (deceased), Steffie Pulinski, Jane Martin, Edward Urbanczyk, Christine Benes, and Marcia Janiga.
James served his country with honor in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. Affectionately known as "Sid" by many, he was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. He had a rewarding career as a HR Director at Nabisco and as Assistant County Manager for Talbot County. James will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church in Cambridge, MD. Family will receive friends from 10:00–11:00 AM at the church before Mass. Interment will follow at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America (Mid Shore Chapter #648) or the March of Dimes/March for Babies Greater Washington, DC Area.
