James Hiram Stichberry Jr. “Stich” went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Anne on November 11, 2025.
Born in Easton, Md. on May 26, 1944 to the parents of James Hiram Stichberry Sr. and Mildred (Smith) Stichberry. In his early years James worked for his parents at their local service station in Easton. James attended Charlotte Hall Military Academy and then graduated from Easton High School in 1962. He then served his country in the United States Air Force.
James’s true passion was truck driving, specifically long haul truck driving. He did this for many years before becoming a dispatcher until his retirement. James had so many stories of his “trucking” days and told them to his family daily. Even weeks prior to his death he talked about driving a truck again. James enjoyed traveling with his wife Anne on little getaways. He enjoyed cutting grass, politics, NASCAR, and watching the Orioles and Redskins. He was a lifelong member of the Easton Elks Lodge.
James is preceded in death by the love of his life and best friend, Anne Jones Stichberry. He was lost without her. Also two brothers, John Stichberry and Elwood Stichberry.
James is survived by this three children, James H. Stichberry III and wife Kim of Millersville, Md., Jamie Hodges and Husband Eric of Cambridge, Md. and Scott Stichberry of Cambridge, Md., five grandchildren he loved dearly, Emeline “Eme” Hodges, Jayson Stichberry, Courtney Imbrogluio, Megan Couch, and Mandy Ruzzi, one great grandson, Dominic Ruzzi.
A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 11am at the Jones Family Cemetery on Pig Neck Road in Cambridge, Md. with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Rd Cambridge, Md. 21613 or Neck District Fire Company, 954 Cooks Point Rd Cambridge, Md. 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge, Md.
