Jira N. McGlaughlin

Jira N. McGlaughlin, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Talbot Hospice House in Easton. He was born in Cambridge on February 4, 1947 and was a son of the late William J. “Bill Tuck” McGlaughlin and Mary Alene Ruark McGlaughlin.

Mr. McGlaughlin graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1965. He worked at Airpax, Cambridge Wire Cloth and later Heavy Hammer. Mr. McGlaughlin enjoyed playing cards and Dominoes.

He is survived by two daughters Monica Duperron and husband David of Clarksville, DE and Jennifer McGlaughlin of Cambridge, two grandchildren Jira Duperron and David Duperron. Besides his parents, Mr. McGlaughlin is preceded in death by a brother Eddie McGlaughlin and a granddaughter Phyllis Lynn Duperron.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 at 1pm at Dorchester Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Talbot Hospice House, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601 or to Bayside Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
