Jo Ann Cox, 79, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Cambridge on December 16, 1940 and was a daughter of the late Samuel Thomas Cannon and Olive Cantwell Cannon.
Mrs. Cox graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1958. On July 24, 1965, she married Rudy Bloodsworth, who passed away on December 16, 1975 and she remarried on September 8, 1976 to Christopher R. Cox, who passed away on July 30, 2011. Mrs. Cox worked with her father at the Taste Freeze in Cambridge and later worked at Dorchester General Hospital. She enjoyed music, going to plays and traveling. Mrs. Cox volunteered at Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of St. Mary Refuge of Sinners.
She is survived by a son in law Andrew J. Hughes, Jr. of Hurlock, two grandchildren Tyler Hughes and Lindsey Hughes of Hurlock, her twin sister Sue Gray of Cambridge and several nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Cox is preceded in death by a son Charles A. Bloodsworth, a daughter Robin Lynn Hughes, a grandson A.J. Hughes and a brother in law Wylie Gray, Sr.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 12 pm at East New Market Cemetery with Father Bruce Byrolly officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mallard Bay Activity Department, 520 Glenburn Avenue, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
