John L. Lewis

John L. Lewis, 88, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at his home. He was born in Florida on June 1, 1933 and was a son of the late Joe Lewis.

Mr. Lewis attended schools in Florida. In 1972, he married the former Mary Milton. He worked for Maryland State Highway with 38 years of service. Mr. Lewis enjoyed cutting grass, washing cars and loved being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lewis, five children, numerous grandchildren and two great grandchildren Aubrie and Brentley and numerous other great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Lewis is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters and a son Johnnie Lewis, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 1 pm at Cokesbury Cemetery in Reliance, MD. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P. A. in Cambridge.
