Larry Allen Aaron, 71, of Golden Hill, MD passed away at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Born at home of his grandmother Ruby Shockley in Hoopers Island Md. He was the son of the late Clarence Deland and Doris Shockley Aaron.

Larry moved to Cambridge at the age of 9 with his family. Larry attended schools in Cambridge and was a 1971 graduate of Cambridge High School. 

Although he moved to Cambridge with his family, the Island always called him back. Larry spent the weekends and summers on the Island he loved with his Uncle Rodgers Shockley. Larry carried his love of the water into adulthood and became a lifelong waterman on his boat named Rendezvous. Larry was happiest out on the water, be if fishing or navigating the back waterways of Tar Bay and the Honga River. He would often navigate these waterways to combines the shores, hunting for seaglass, or searching for Indian artifacts. 

Larry married the former Rhonda Flowers on September 23, 1973, they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have one son, Justin.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda, son Justin (Amanda), grandchildren Kinsley Ruth, Bentley Deland and Ashlynn Michelle. Larry is also survived by three siblings Dennis (Donna Faye) Aaron, Brenda Rue (Johnny) and Dottie Morris (Scott), mother in law Nellie Flowers, a brother in law Mark Flowers, Jr. and wife Teresa and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Aaron is preceded in death by his father in law Marcus Flowers, Sr. and a sister in law Bonnie Gay Willey.

At Larry’s request, Private services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosier Memorial United Methodist Church in care of Diana Robbins P.O. Box 296, Fishing Creek 21634.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
