Leroy J. "Jimmy" Tolley, Sr.

Leroy J. “Jimmy” Tolley, Sr., 62, of Church Creek passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home. Jimmy was born on November 30, 1955 and was a son of the late Vincent Leroy Tolley and Louise Hall Tolley.

Jimmy was raised in Fishing Creek and graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1974. He worked in the seafood industry for many years and also for D.S. Smith (Interstate Corrpack) in Cambridge. On May 4, 1990, he married the former Wanda Hooper. Jimmy enjoyed boating, cars and loved playing 58.  Jimmy was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 91.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Tolley of Church Creek, two sons Chris Tolley and fiancee Amy Oakes of Trappe and JT Tolley and wife Sarah of Vermont, two grandchildren Ellie Tolley and Ava Tolley, a sister Dolores Abbott and husband Ernest of East New Market, a brother Roland Hayman and wife Charlotte of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11 am at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. Interment will follow at Hosier Memorial Churchyard in Hoopers Island. Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., 700 Locust Street, Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
