Linda L. Parke

Linda Lee Parke died peacefully on Wed., October 21 at Bayleigh Chase Assisted Living in Easton, MD, she was 88. Linda was born on January 24, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to Harry and Velma Savio. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1956, where she was a majorette. Linda attended Stephens College before becoming a wife and mother. She was a former Miss Colorado contestant.

Linda and her former husband, Joe, primarily raised their family in Severna Park, MD where she was the ultimate homemaker. From keeping the house spotless, to making delicious meals, she was known for her attention to detail from everyday meals to holiday dinners. Her “death chocolate pie” and twice baked potatoes are still family favorites. Up until a few years before her passing, Linda didn’t go out without “putting her lips on.” Because of Joe’s job with NSA, the family spent time living in England and South Korea. Linda loved to travel and take advantage of living overseas. Linda worked at The Blue Channel Restaurant in the Cape St. Claire area of Anne Arundel County and in The Fur Department at Macy’s in Annapolis.

Linda eventually moved to Milton, DE where she built a beautiful Cape Cod home. She spent several years working in Customer Service at the Dover Mall. Linda enjoyed going to Nicola’s in Rehobeth for “nicobolis”, walking on the boardwalk, going to the movies and was an avid reader before dementia changed her life.

She attended Centenery United Methodist Church in Laurel, DE where she loved singing in the choir, especially the Christmas and Easter cantatas.

Linda is survived by her sister, Dixie Savio Jones of Denver, CO, her son, Mitchel (Janel), of Cambridge, MD, daughters, Cheryl Kolshak (Edward), of Newport, NC, Jamie Mingroni (Leonard), of Franktown, CO and Jennifer Lombard of Northwood, IA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marcie (Sky), Katie (Brenden), Abigail, Michael, Jessica (Matthew), Cassandra (Destin), Bethany, Dylan, Breanne and Nicholas (Elizabeth). Linda also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, August, Ava, Elizabeth, Louisa, Zuzu, Oliver and Edward. Also cherishing her memory are dear friends, Colletta Saunders, Elaine & Jack McLaughlin and Nancy Palla. In addition to her parents, Linda is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Robert Jones and her former husband, Joe Parke.

The family is so grateful for the compassion, love and care shown to Linda during her 10 years at Bayleigh Chase, from Independent Living to Assisted Living, she was in always excellent hands. During her final days, Talbot Hospice showed the same compassion, love and care for Linda. The family feels very blessed!

A Celebration of Life will be held in April 2027.
