Loretta Wanda Garing (Garing) Todd

With her family at her side, Loretta Wanda Garing Todd passed away peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2023 with loving care from Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. She was born in Cambridge on April 13, 1939 and was the eldest child of Loretta Ethel and James Clark Garing Jr. After briefly living in Laurel, Delaware the family made their home back to Cambridge where she attended local schools and was an avid participant in several high school sports, most notably Volleyball, Tennis and Basketball. Wanda graduated from Cambridge High in 1957.

She married the love of her life, Franklin Dulany Todd Sr. on March 17, 1958, and together they had seven children, Tracy Lea Todd, Terry Ann Todd, Tammy Todd Hodges (Dennis), Franklin Dulany Todd Jr., James Clyde Timothy Todd (Tammy Rae Todd), Loretta Helen Todd, and Jennifer Todd Leap (Steve).

Wanda was a single mother after the passing of her husband and raised her children in Secretary. She worked numerous jobs and positions as the provider for her family, Rob Roy, Taste Freeze, Quik Freeze, and finally Airpax, where she retired in 1999.

Wanda was a lover of life and enjoyed her children and grandchildren immensely. Her grandchildren are Nathaniel (Nate) Todd Leap (LeighAnn), Victoria (Tori) Nicole Leap, Tyler McClain Hodges, and Zane Dulany Todd. She is survived by her sister Barbara Garing Hall, her brother James C. Garing (Gina), several nieces, nephews, step grandsons, step great grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members.

Wanda enjoyed and loved reading, cooking, swimming, the color green, tennis, giraffes, Elvis, laughter, all things Eastern Shore including steamed crabs, rockfish, tomato sandwiches and local sweet corn.

Honoring the request of Wanda, there are to be “no tears” and no public service.
