Louise E. (Elliott) Moffitt

Louise E. Moffitt, 103, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday morning March 1, 2018 at Mallard Bay Care Center. She was born in Bishops Head on June 27, 1914 and was a daughter of the late Alonza and Ethel McGlaughlin Elliott.

Mrs. Moffitt was raised and attended schools in Cambridge. She was married to Harry Pyle, who passed away in 1941, Edward McGrath who passed away in 1994 and Richard Moffitt who passed away in 1980. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed cooking and having her family together. She lived a full and exciting life, traveling with her now late husband, Richard Moffitt, to many states in their RV, finally settling in Bradenton, Florida. After his death, she returned home to Cambridge and for the last 4 ½ years, she resided at Mallard Bay where she enjoyed her many visits from her family and friends. Mrs. Moffitt was a member of A.A.R.P., Moose Lodge 1656 in Grasonville, American Legion Post 91 Auxiliary, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW Auxiliary and was a member of St. John’s Chapel in Cornersville.

She is survived by a daughter Ethel Hurley (Payton), granddaughter and great-granddaughter Carol Hurley Fehsenfeld (Robert) and Emily Fehsenfeld,  grandson Kevin Hurley, grandchildren Eugene Warfield and his sister Patricia Torossian, Mike Bradshaw, Bobby Ruark, Tammy Papp, Robin Ruark, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, a sister Rodella Gullion and husband Don of Salinas, California, step-son Charles Moffitt, step-daughter Sally McQuaid of Texas and several nieces and nephews. Beside her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Moffitt is preceded in death by three daughters Betty Warfield, Mary Lou Bradshaw and Margaret Ann Ruark, five brothers Milford Elliott, Sr., Ernest Elliott, Sr., Rufus Elliott, Eugene Elliott, Winford Elliott, Sr., and a sister Esther Peroutsa.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 2 pm at St. John's Chapel Churchyard with Pastor Steve Trice officiating. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
