Margaret Jacqueline "Jackie" Eckels

Margaret Jacqueline "Jackie" Eckels, age 83 of Cambridge Maryland, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, in her home in Cambridge, Maryland.

Jackie was born on October 14, 1942, in Washington, D.C. to the late John P. Keppler “Jack”and the late Margaret M. Hill-Keppler. She worked as a homemaker and later at the Defense Intelligence Agency.

Jackie knew life was short and used that knowledge to seize every opportunity to the fullest.This philosophy led to a full life of worldly adventure and fearlessly embracing every moment putin front of her. Even as she settled into the later seasons of life and her days took a quietershape - she would still regale her family with her passionate storytelling.

Her greatest legacy is the family she nurtured. She leaves behind her four cherished daughters(formerly Robbins): Rose “Romie” Asplen (Michael), Christine “Chris” Greenman (Douglas),Laurie Whiston (Mark), and Abigail “Abby” Norris (Jeffrey). She will also be lovingly rememberedby her grandchildren: Jason Cantville, Caroline Vargas, Jackson Brohawn, Jill Morris, AllisonShiver, Kylee Foster, Nicholas Foster, Madelyn Norris, along with her only nephew John ”Levi”Combs and 12 Great Grandchildren.

She now joins her beloved husband, Norman Eckels, her parents, and her sister, Lydia Jill Combs, in eternal rest.
