Martha Ellen Brooks, 92, of Cambridge passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026 at her home. She was born on February 23, 1934 in Elliott Island to the late Rannie Gray and Mildred Gray.
Martha graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1952. In her early years she worked at her father's grocery store at the corner of Cedar and Race Streets. Upon David's retirement, they returned to Cambridge where they operated Dave's Drive-In for a number of years. After the drive-in she worked for a time at Air Pax.
Martha enjoyed reading, gardening, doing crafts and crossword puzzles, dogs, chocolate, and having fun. She also enjoyed a good clean joke as she had a great sense of humor and playing softball in her younger years, which she could throw as good as her brothers. Mrs. Brooks focused on being nice to everyone, as she had a kind spirit. She also was very in tune with her quiet, but personal faith.
