Mary E. Jackson, 76, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Cambridge on July 4, 1946 and was a daughter of the late Melvin Gatton and Mary McClain Spies and Elmer Spies.

Mrs. Jackson attended schools in Cambridge and Easton. On August 24, 1968, she married Michael H. Jackson who passed away on October 9, 2004. She worked as a caregiver and drove a school bus. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed boating, especially rock fishing, and was a shooting skeet champion for 3 years.

She is survived by son Randy Lee Mowbray (Veronica), two daughters Donna Lynn Dean (Eddie), Lisa Trainor (Jeff), grandchildren Cody Bradshaw, Chad Bradshaw, Ciana Dean, Daniel Mowbray, Shelbie Parks, Colin Thomas, 11 great grandchildren, her companion David Spencer and his daughters Megan Bennett and Ashley Griffith, a brother Elmer Spies, a sister Cheryl Travers (Sonny), a sister Doris Spies, several nieces nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by a brother Richard Gatton.

A chapel service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11am at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
