Mary E. (Batchelor) Vickers

July 13, 1934 — February 22, 2018

Mary E. Vickers, 83, of Cambridge passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Chestertown on July 13, 1934 and was a daughter of the late George Batchelor and Louise Elliott Batchelor.

Mrs. Vickers was raised in a children's home in Talbot County, and where she also attended school in Easton. On June 28, 1952, she married Robert Vickers, who passed away on September 13, 2017. She worked at Rob Roy for 30 years and also at Mallard Bay Care Center for a little while. Mrs. Vickers enjoyed shopping, going out to restaurants, playing bingo, going to the VFW with her husband and was an avid reader. She also attended St. John's Chapel in Cornersville.

She is survived by a daughter Donna Trego and husband Michael of Cambridge, and granddaughter Michelle Trego of Pocomoke. Besides her parents, Mrs. Vickers is preceded in death by a sister Emily Bakeoven Stubbs and a brother Henry Batchelor.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
