Mary Lee Willon

Mary Lee Willon, 90, of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Baltimore County on July 25, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Edgar N. Brooks and Rhoda Bullock Brooks.

Mary Lee graduated from Catonsville High School. She attended Washington College in Chestertown and graduated from Towson State College. Mary Lee received her Master’s Degree from University of Maryland. She was first married to Thomas Milton Webster in 1948 and in May of 1992, she married Wallace Willon. Mary Lee was an elementary school teacher in Dorchester and Prince George’s Counties. She was a world traveler, visited 37 countries during her lifetime. Mary Lee enjoyed square dancing with her husband Wallace. She was an active member of the Cambridge Women's Club, Dorchester Garden Club and Faith Baptist Fellowship.

She is survived by her husband Wallace Willon of Cambridge, children David Brooks Webster of Stevensville MD; Carol Bethel (Bradley) of Freeport, Bahamas; Mary Beth Bromley (Mark) of Reston VA, step children: Wally Willon of Raleigh NC; and Mychael Willon of Williamsburg, VA, grandchildren: Heather Lee Roberts, Dean Thomas Bethel, Zachary Willon, Hannah Willon, Ava Rose Willon, Charles Willon, Mychael Willon II, a sister Shirley Brooks Powell, Catonsville, MD and a brother Nelson Brooks (Fay) Princess Anne, MD and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Cambridge with Rev. Randall T. Blackmon and Rev. Joel Beiler officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, 501 Glenburn Ave., Cambridge, MD 21613 or to Faith Baptist Fellowship, 1312 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
