Michael D. Blaher, 68, of Mardela Springs, MD passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Baltimore City on March 12, 1955 to the late William J. and Elsie Beatty Blaher.

 

Mr. Blaher served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Salisbury State in 1981 with his Bachelor’s degree, and in 1993 he received his Master's.  On January 7, 1978, he married the former Linda Schiarelli. Mr. Blaher was a Certified Public Accountant.  He enjoyed doing stained glass, beekeeping, gardening, and restoring old houses. Mr. Blaher was a member of the American Legion in Salisbury. 

 

He is survived by his wife Linda Blaher of Mardela Springs, MD, three children Mandy Haller (Joe) of Dover, DE, Nate Blaher (Jami) of Mardela Springs, MD,  Ben Blaher (Denise) of Stevensville, MD, six grandchildren Mckenzi, Brayden, Emma, Carson, Harper, and Baby Blaher (March 2024), four siblings Andrew Blaher (Evynn) of FL, Pamela Haxton (Joseph) of MD, Robert Blaher (Angel) of MD, Jeffrey Blaher (Kat) of MD and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 12:30pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Joel Beiler officiating. Interment will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:30am to 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802 or The Alzheimer’s Association, 909 Progress Circle Ste. 400, Salisbury, MD 21804.
