After complications from a sudden illness, Michele Lynn Moulds, 63, passed away peacefully with family on March 6th, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Michele was born on August 4th, 1957 in Reading, PA, the second youngest of eight children to Stewart and Rita (Breen) Melcher. She grew up in Wyomissing, PA, graduating from Holy Name Catholic School in 1975. Introduced by friends at a party, she met her future husband Michael in 1976, whom she married two years later. In 1991, after having two children, they settled in Elizabethtown, PA to raise their family, where she worked as the Director of Admissions at Masonic Village. In 2006, after becoming empty nesters, they moved to Salem, MD on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her children, granddaughters, and pets, reading crime novels, and spending sunny days on her deck by the pool.
Michele is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Michael, and her two children: Patrick R. Moulds, husband of Carol, Lititz, PA, and Erin E. Kauffman, wife of Jeremy, Mount Joy, PA. Additionally, she is survived by her three grandchildren: Raegan Haldeman, Analy Kauffman and Kylie Kauffman; five siblings: Patricia Cammarano, wife of the late Dominic, Blandon, PA, R. Kathryn Campbell, wife of Hale, Bradenton, FL, Mary Sianis, wife of Harry, Thornton, CO, and Christopher Melcher, husband of Denise, Augusta, SC. She was predeceased by three siblings: J. Barry Melcher, Robert Melcher, and James Melcher.
Michele was an avid supporter of animal rescue organizations and filled her life with rescued dogs and cats over the years. Her furry family included Grady, Clemson, Molly and Kidders, and several well-fed feral cats will miss her as well. In lieu of flowers she asked that donations be offered to the Baywater Animal Rescue no-kill shelter in Cambridge, Maryland.
A celebration of Michele’s life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
