Miguel Nicolás Jiménez, 72, of Cambridge passed away on Friday,December 19, 2025 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in La Romana,Dominican Republic on September 29, 1953 and was the youngest son of the late Mr. Nicolás Jiménez of Higüey, Dominican Republic and the late Mrs. Antonia Jiménez (née Belén Rosado) of Lajas, Puerto Rico.

Mr. Jiménez spent his formative years in Newark, New Jersey and his youth and early adult life in the Dominican Republic where he graduated from college with an Agricultural Sciences degree with an Agronomy focus and a Bachelor of Letters (BLitt) degree. In his younger years, he worked as an agronomist in the family agricultural business, and became an artisan cheesemaker, creating his own brand of cheese, Quesos San Miguel. Mr. Jiménez moved his young family to the state of New Jersey in the late 80s,and began a new career as master lithographer. His new career was a sense of pride for him because it took him to work in various states and companies in which he had the opportunity to work on noteworthy projects such as the invitations of Presidential inaugurations. Throughout a career that spanned decades until his retirement, Mr. Jiménez often received awards and recognition for his innovation and dedication. Upon retirement, Mr. Jiménez along with his wife and youngest son,moved to Cambridge where he dedicated most of his time to his hobbies, which included being an avid gardener, listening to his favorite music, reading, watching history documentaries, spending time with family, and spoiling his best pal and beloved grand-cat Jerónimo. Mr. Jiménez was known for being a hard-working man of traditional values who possessed a larger than life sense of humor, and a natural ability to make a joke even in the most serious situations; Above all, Mr. Jiménez was known for the love he had for his children, granddaughters, and his family as nothing was more important to him.

Miguel is survived by his wife Altagracia del Carmen Jiménez (née Gutierrez) and their sons, Miguel Rafael (Patricia Coelho) and Nicolás José, his former wife Athenas Mejia and their daughters, Ilia Cristina Johnson (Charles Johnson) and Jessica Antonia Jiménez, three grand-children Izabela Alfaro, Natalia Jiménez, Helena Jiménez, his pet Jerónimo Antonio Jiménez, his nephew who was more a brother to himRicardo "Ricky" Lespier, his beloved great-niece and god-daughter Laura Lespier-Quizhpis, one niece Minerva Benlice, three other nephews Nick "Nicky"Benlice, Victor Hugo Benlice,Edgardo Benlice, two beloved grand-nephews Claudio Lespier and Ricardo “Ricardito” Lespier, and many other beloved family and friends. Besides his parents, Mr. Jiménez is preceded in death by a sister Mirca Lespier and a brother Victor Benlice.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 7pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Father Pedro Chalacan officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
