Nancy L. Parks, 95, of Cambridge passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. She was born in Wingate on February 26, 1931 and was a daughter of the late Robert and Susie Fitzhugh Holliday.
Mrs. Parks attended schools in Dorchester County. On October 15, 1947, she married Calvert O’Neill Parks-resulting in a 57-year marriage. She worked on the water with her husband on the Dorothy Lee, culling oysters. Later in life, she served as an assistant Postmaster and Postmaster of the Wingate Post Office. Her main role as a homemaker brought her much joy. Her family will cherish memories with love of family gatherings, holidays, and her delicious meals including crab cakes, oyster puffs, potato salad, and coconut cake. Gardening of flowers, plants, and vegetables was her passion. She loved to travel to warmer climates that included Palm Trees. Mrs. Parks was a past member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters Angela Shinn (Allen)of Cambridge and Debbie Parks of Cambridge, four grandchildren Scott Frankel (Kathy), Danielle Foster (Jay), Tabi Simmons (Matt) and Monte Brannock, great grandchildren Christopher Frankel (Victoria), Whitney Frankel, Devin Shockley, Braden Foster, and Joseph Frankel, great great grandchildren Braylan Frankel and Emery Frankel, a sister Diane Glover, sisters in law Carolyn Armiger and Doris Abbott, plus many nieces and nephews; Special friends Nancy Jones and Anita Bennett.
Mrs. Park’s last few years of life have been brightened and comforted by her daughters, family, friends and present and past caregivers, Shannon Bloodsworth, LaToy Johnson, Esmeralda Sullivan, Brenda Fox, Nancy Jones, Lily Wooten, Sandra Perez, Donna LeCompte, Wendy Frankel, Deborah Adams and the staff at Amedysis (Adoration) Home Health.
She was preceded in death by her husband Calvert Parks, her daughter Linda Parks Glenn (Jacque) and most recently her aunt Frances Bloodsworth.
Pallbearers will be Scott Frankel, Monte Brannock, Christopher Frankel, Jay Foster, Matt Simmons and Mickey Henry. Honorary pallbearers are David Wooten, William (Bill) Cannon, Charles Moore, Jason Love, Dan Brannock and Andre H. Smith (Baltimore).
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Steve Bloodsworth officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service, everyone is invited to gather at Christ Episcopal Church, 601 Church Street, Cambridge, MD 21613.
Memorial contributions can be made to Open Bible Church, 1619 Race Street, Cambridge, MD 21631 or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or any non-profit organization.
