Natalie M. Dawson

Natalie M. Dawson, 65, of Cambridge passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at ChristianaCare in Wilmington, Delaware. She was born in Cambridge on January 16, 1961, and was the daughter of Violet Smith Jackson and the late Cyril Jackson.

Natalie graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School with the Class of 1979. She worked at Airpax for many years and later with Dorchester County Animal Control. Natalie had a creative spirit and especially enjoyed making miniature dollhouses and collecting antique dolls. She was also a lifelong animal lover.

Above all, Natalie loved her family. She cherished her time as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be remembered for the love she shared with those closest to her.

She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Dawson Bryan and her husband Christopher of East New Market; her mother, Violet Jackson of Cambridge; a sister, Kimberly Jackson of Church Creek; a brother, Darren Jackson and his wife Tracey of Selbyville, Delaware; two granddaughters, Chloe James and Alyssa James; a great-grandson, Walker Andrews; an uncle, Allen Smith, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Church Creek; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Natalie was preceded in death by her stepfather, Cyril Jackson, who raised her; her father, Thomas Dawson; her grandmother, Kathleen Smith; and her grandfather, Allen Smith, Sr.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Gary Hickman officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Baywater Animal Rescue, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
