Philip L. Bradshaw, Jr.

Philip L. Bradshaw Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Salisbury, Maryland, on July 1, 2026. He was the son of the late Philip and Alice Westbrook Bradshaw and was the devoted husband of Agnes "Ricki" Messick Bradshaw.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Chambers; his brothers, Jerry and Alan Bradshaw; his sister-in-law, Stephanie Bradshaw; and his brother-in-law, Richard "Dickie" Messick.

Mr. Bradshaw attended Cambridge High School, the Mercer College of Business, the Graduate School of Consumer Banking at the University of Virginia, and the Command and General Staff College.

He began his banking career in 1954 as a teller and, through dedication and hard work, advanced to the position of Senior Vice President before retiring in 1995. Following his retirement, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of First Shore Federal Savings and Loan Association, where he continued to share his knowledge and leadership.

A proud patriot, Mr. Bradshaw served in the Maryland National Guard from 1954 until his retirement in 1991, completing nearly four decades of distinguished military service.

Throughout his life, Mr. Bradshaw was deeply committed to serving his community. He generously volunteered his time and leadership to numerous organizations, including the Salisbury Rotary Club, Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Service, the Shandy Foundation, the Wicomico County Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, the Salisbury Economic Development Committee, the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, the Dorchester United Fund, the Cambridge Exchange Club, and many other civic and charitable organizations.

In addition to his beloved wife, Ricki, he is survived by his nieces, Tammy Bradshaw (Gee McClain), Leah Brown (Will Brown), and Abby Messick; his sister-in-law, Carol Messick; and his cherished grandchildren, Stephen Chambers, Thomas Chambers, and Elizabeth Chambers.

A private burial will be held in accordance with his wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Halo Ministries or Coastal Hospice, both of Salisbury, Maryland. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
