Quentin S. Dawson

Quentin Sherman Dawson, 85, of Bishops Head, Maryland passed away on Saturday October 18,2025 at UMSMC at Easton. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland on November 18, 1939 to the late Quentin “Red” and Carolina Keckley Dawson.

 He graduated from South Dorchester School in 1957. After High School he joined the US Army and entered the Cold War as a M60 tank operator defending the East German border / Berlin Wall in Germany. After returning home Quentin worked as a Waterman. He then went on to work for International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron-workers Local # 16 Union Journeyman. He also built and repaired work-boats for many locals where he was known to be a very meticulous builder. His hobbies were to build replica wooden boats, paint rocks, look for treasures metal detecting and building bird houses. Quentin was a member of the Cambridge Coin Club. He loved being with family, Fishing with his now late brother Mike and friend George Bushell. He loved taking rides on the country roads, Holiday meals and Chicken and Dumplings.

He is survived by four children, Wade Dawson (Reese), Tina Wieciech (Paul), Wyatt Dawson, Missy Dawson (Ivan Bonneville), Grandchildren - Reece Todd (Debbie), Billy Peterson (Gennie), Joshua Peterson (Katelyn), Tommy Ashton III (Kayla), Carolina Ashton, Cerah Dawson, Sabrina Bonneville, Ivan Bonneville Jr., Brandon Bonneville (Amber), Amber Tinley. Great - Grandchildren - Hanah, Jackson, Aiden, Owen, Audrey, Avery, Axel, Jordan and Gabriel. He is also survived by his brothers Shannon “Bear” Dawson, Richard “Dickie” Dawson (Linda), Danny Dawson (Kathy) and sister Dottie Hoge (David).

Preceded in death by Carolina (mother) and Red Dawson (father), April Ashton (daughter), Logan Ashton IV. (grandson), Dimitri Ashton (Great-Grandson), Mike Dawson (brother), Darlyn Fitzhugh (mother of his children) and Diana Robinson (long time companion).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025 at 12pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. Jayson Bleyer officiating. Interment will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
