Ralph W. Jackson, Jr

Ralph W. Jackson, Jr., 90, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Mallard Bay Care Center. He was born in Cambridge on May 15, 1922 and was a son of the late Ralph W. and Marydel Taylor Jackson.

He graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1939. On January 25, 1947, he married the former Sara Murphy who passed away on March 16, 2003. Mr. Jackson has been a well respected farmer his entire life. He was a member of the Dorchester County Farm Bureau and a past member of the Cambridge Moose Lodge.

He is survived by a daughter Melissa Robbins and husband Steve, two sons G. Philip Jackson and wife Diana and Ralph W. "Sonny" Jackson III and wife Gale all of Cambridge, 10 grandchildren Philip Jackson, Jr., Paul M. Jackson, Dr. Krista Morgan, Shannon R. Jackson, Ralph W. "Trent" Jackson IV, Lisa Robbins, Stephanie Robbins, Steven Barnett, Richard Barnett and Theresa Ferris, 16 great grandchildren, two step sisters Lula Mae Phillips and Doris Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Jackson is preceded in death by a brother George Philip Jackson, a sister Ann Blackburn and a stepson R. Grant Barnett.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Wilson, Raymond Aaron, Ed Kerbaugh, Chad Smith, Donald Jones and Wayne Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Trice, Ted Malkus, Calvin Malkus, William Beckwith, Jr., Richard Lowry and Goldsborough James, Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Christ Churchyard. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O.
