Raymond P. Robbins, 79, of Cambridge passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Heartfields Assisted Living in Easton with his companion Nancy Baker by his side. He was born in Cambridge on October 22, 1944 and was a son of the late Hildon Robbins, Sr. and Evelyn Delcamp Robbins.
Mr. Robbins graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1962. He served in the Army National Guard for six years. On January 7, 1967, he married the former Gail Burton who passed away on October 17, 2015. Mr. Robbins worked with the Maryland State Police and later with the family business. He enjoyed watching Western movies, hunting, motorcycles, woodworking and traveling. Mr. Robbins was a member of the 29th Division Association, The Nause-Waiwash Band of Indians, and Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa DeLuca and husband David of St. Michaels, a grandson Dominic DeLuca and wife Lexi and their son Casey all of Federalsburg, a special niece Tammy Moore of Cambridge and several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Robbins is preceded in death by two sisters Yvonne Robbins, and Bonnie Lyons and a brother Hildon Robbins, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1pm at the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
