Robert "Bob" F. Steele

Robert “Bob” F. Steele, 81, of East New Market passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 at his home. He was born in Salisbury on April 18, 1945 and was a son of the late William Leroy Steele and Minnie Phippin Steele.

He graduated from Seaford High School class of 1963. Mr. Steele served in the U.S. Air Force. On November 2, 1968 he married the former Joan Shenton who passed away on October 23, 2009. He worked for DuPont's with over 35 years of service. Mr. Steele enjoyed bowling and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by a brother Marvin S. Steele of Laurel, MD and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, Mr. Steele is preceded in death by two brothers James F. Steele and William L. Steele, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at 2pm at Dorchester Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Pettit officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Methodist Church, P.O. Box 815, Cambridge, MD 21613. Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
