Robert Frank Koski, age 70, of Fishing Creek, Maryland, passed away on June 14, 2025, following complications from a Shewanella bacterial infection, doing what he loved most, out on the beautiful tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay.
Born in Cambridge, MD, Frank was the son of the late Beulah Frances and Joseph Delmas Koski. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Delmas Keith Koski of Seaford, DE.
Frank was a proud US Army veteran who served honorably at the close of the Vietnam era. After his military service, he applied his talents in mechanical repair with Onan Generator Company and Cambridge Tractor eventually turning his lifelong love of the water into a career servicing marine vessels. His work ethic and skills earned him respect from all who knew him.
Frank’s passion for the water defined much of his life. He spent many years harvesting crabs and oysters alongside his closest and lifelong friend, Buff Aaron. When not on the water, he could often be found enjoying a hearty breakfast on the town, frequented auctions, and peaceful weekend drives through the countryside with Sue by his side.
He was a member of the Dorchester Heritage Seafood Heritage Association.
He is survived by his devoted companion, Susan K. Fisher; his brother, Charles T. Koski (Colleen) of Chincoteague Island, VA, and Pensacola, FL; his daughter, Tanya Darling(Carl); granddaughter, Twyla Armstrong(Brandy); and great-grandchild, Temperian Armstrong. He also leaves behind nieces Crystal and Brianna Silins, many dear friends, and his beloved cats.
Graveside Service will be private on Friday, June 20, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Frank’s memory to Diana Bloom Rathell at Kitty Kat Cottage or the Dorchester Heritage Seafood Heritage Association.
Arrangements are in the care of the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
